The Sister Circle of Living Faith Ministries & Friends hosted its very first Book Review gathering, featuring the powerful and transformative work The Ruth Anointing by Michelle McClain‑Walters. This inaugural event brought together women of faith, purpose, and sisterhood, creating a beautiful space for reflection, growth, and spiritual connection.

LCD Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Lisa T. Storr, was honored to serve as the guest speaker for this special occasion. With grace, wisdom, and heartfelt authenticity, Dr. Storr guided the women through the themes of Ruth’s life, her loyalty, resilience, humility, and divine positioning. She highlighted how Ruth’s anointing still speaks to modern women navigating purpose, identity, and God‑ordained assignments.

The Sister Circle came together not just to read a book, but to experience transformation. Through open conversation, shared testimonies, and moments of reflection, the women explored how Ruth’s journey mirrors their own:

• Choosing faith even in unfamiliar places
• Walking with courage through seasons of transition
• Embracing God’s divine setup even when the path feels uncertain
• Allowing character, integrity, and obedience to open doors of favor

Dr. Storr’s message encouraged every woman present to recognize the anointing within themselves, an anointing to serve, to rise, to rebuild, and to walk boldly into the future God has prepared.

The event was filled with joy, laughter, heartfelt conversation, and the unmistakable bond of sisterhood. Women gathered outdoors in vibrant summer colors, celebrating one another and the beauty of spiritual growth in community. The Sister Circle’s commitment to creating safe, uplifting spaces for women was evident in every detail.

This first Book Review marks the beginning of many more gatherings designed to empower, educate, and spiritually strengthen women across the ministry and beyond. Dr. Storr was deeply honored to pour into the Sister Circle and looks forward to continued fellowship, growth, and shared purpose.

 On July 27 and 28, 2026, the LCD Foundation and SPACES Eleuthera brought an international vision to life in The Bahamas through Going Global, a transformative financial empowerment experience designed specifically for youth and teens. What began as a bold idea became a highly successful two‑day program that reached 60 students each day, marking a milestone in LCD’s expanding global youth initiatives.

This collaboration between LCD Foundation and SPACES Eleuthera proved to be both seamless and impactful. Together, the teams created an environment where students felt inspired, supported, and motivated to take control of their financial futures. The partnership blended LCD’s global empowerment mission with SPACES Eleuthera’s deep community roots, resulting in a program that resonated with students and families across the island.

Going Global was intentionally designed to go beyond traditional learning. Over the two days, students participated in:

• Engaging workshops that broke down real‑life financial concepts
• Real‑world simulations that taught budgeting, saving, and investing
• Interactive challenges that strengthened decision‑making and teamwork
• Daily reflections that helped students understand their spending habits and build healthier financial routines

Every activity was practical, hands‑on, and immediately applicable, giving youth and teens tools they could use the same day in their homes, schools, and communities.

With 60 students in attendance each day, the energy in the room was electric. Youth and teens asked thoughtful questions, collaborated, and demonstrated a strong desire to build financially empowered futures. The excitement and engagement from the students confirmed that Going Global met a real need and exceeded expectations.

The success of this two‑day program highlights what is possible when organizations unite around shared values and a commitment to youth. LCD Foundation and SPACES Eleuthera created a blueprint for international programming that is culturally grounded, community‑centered, and globally impactful.

Going Global in Eleuthera was more than an event; it was the beginning of a movement. LCD Foundation remains committed to expanding this work, strengthening international partnerships, and empowering youth and teens across the world with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to thrive.

Storr, delivered the opening prayer for the 2026 NAACP Fairfax Chapter Michelle Leete Memorial Scholarship Winners Celebration—a ceremony dedicated to continuing the powerful legacy of Michelle Leete and uplifting the next generation of leaders.

Continuing Michelle’s Legacy

Michelle Leete believed in the power of service and the importance of using one’s voice to create meaningful change. Her life’s work centered on justice, equity, and community empowerment. The Michelle Leete Memorial Scholarship carries that mission forward by supporting students who embody her courage, compassion, and commitment to advocacy. Through this scholarship, future leaders are inspired to rise boldly, speak truth, and continue the work she championed with unwavering dedication.

A Prayer Covering Every Scholar

Dr. Storr offered a heartfelt prayer over the scholarship recipients—speaking blessings of favor, protection, wisdom, and purpose over their lives. She prayed that each student would walk confidently into their future, equipped with strength, resilience, and a deep awareness of the community standing behind them. Her words set a tone of unity, hope, and spiritual grounding for the celebration.

A Celebration Led with Excellence

Under the outstanding leadership of President Niki Zimmerman and her dedicated Fairfax NAACP team, the event was executed with excellence. Their commitment to honoring Michelle Leete’s legacy and uplifting young scholars was evident in every detail—from the warm welcome to the thoughtful recognition of each recipient.

The Fairfax NAACP continues to demonstrate what community-centered leadership looks like: intentional, inclusive, and deeply rooted in service.

Standing Together for Brighter Futures

LCD Foundation celebrates these remarkable scholars and proudly stands alongside the Fairfax NAACP in championing education, equity, and opportunity. Dr. Storr was deeply honored to contribute to such a meaningful moment and to support the next generation of leaders who will carry forward Michelle Leete’s legacy of justice and empowerment.

 LCD Foundation, Inc. was honored to partner with the WWMS Boys to Men Program for an impactful Money Moves Afterschool Workshop designed to equip young men with practical financial skills they can use right away. After school, these students showed up ready to learn, grow, and take charge of their financial futures.

Through interactive lessons, real‑world money simulations, and hands‑on activities, the young men explored essential topics such as:

• Smart spending habits
• Budgeting with purpose
• Saving strategies
• The basics of investing
• Understanding needs vs. wants
• 
  

Their engagement, curiosity, and willingness to participate made the workshop powerful. It was clear that when young men are given the right tools, they rise to the challenge with confidence and maturity.

This afterschool partnership reflects LCD Foundation’s commitment to empowering youth with money skills that matter and life skills that last. Together, we are shaping responsible, informed, and financially confident young men who are ready to make strong decisions for their future.
